The Towers of Light Series by Allen Brokken
The Towers of Light Series by Allen Brokken is a faith-filled Christian fantasy adventure written for families seeking stories that inspire courage, discernment, and trust in God.
Set in the frontier land of Zoura, the series follows three siblings — Lauren (12), Aiden (9), and Ethan (5) — as they face deception, danger, and darkness while striving to keep the Tower of Light shining.
Written at a 3rd–6th grade reading level, the series is ideal for independent readers, homeschool families, and family read-alouds for ages 6–14.
Series Overview
When their parents mysteriously disappear, Lauren, Aiden, and Ethan find themselves thrust into an unexpected adventure that begins with something as ordinary as making breakfast and quickly turns into a fight for survival.
As the children learn to work together, they must confront misinformation, fear, and isolation while choosing whether to follow their conscience — even when doing so comes at a cost.
The Towers of Light Series is an allegory that gently teaches biblical values such as discernment, obedience, and courage through action-packed storytelling and age-appropriate suspense.

Light of Mine (Towers of Light Book 1)
Darkness is spreading through the land of Zoura. Beyond the borders of the heathlands, innocent animals are being turned into monsters, and good men are becoming pawns of the Dark One.
Alone on their farm after their parents disappear, twelve-year-old Lauren and her brave little brothers, Aiden and Ethan, must guard the Tower of Light. With only their faith, three mysterious weapons, and a trio of blessed pets, they are the only ones standing against the encroaching shadows.
Will the children be able to protect the Tower and find the faith to light their parents' way home—or will the Dark One extinguish the light forever?
Still Small Voice (Towers of Light Book 2)
The battle for the first Tower has been won, but the Dark One’s influence continues to creep across the Zoura frontier. In a vision, Lauren, Aiden, and Ethan are called to light a second tower in Blooming Glen to save their parents.
However, a well-meaning uncle and a misguided acolyte threaten to lead them off the path and into the waiting shadows. As dark forces prepare to descend, the children must learn to discern the truth from the noise and trust in the guidance they’ve been given.
Can they convince those they love to listen to the still small voice—or will they be led astray before they can reach their destination?
Fear No Evil (Towers of light Book 3)
Across the land of Zoura, people and creatures alike fall prey to the Darkness’s persuasion. Neighbors turn against neighbors, and the Dark One gains ground in his pursuit to shroud the land in eternal night.
When Lauren, Aiden, and Ethan are separated from each other and their Knight Protector, they must navigate a valley of darkness alone. Their faith is tested as they fight not only for Zoura’s future, but for their own survival.
Will they stand firm and fear no evil — or will the darkness prevail?
Armor of God (Towers of Light Book 4)
The stakes have never been higher for the siblings as they face their most heart-wrenching challenge yet. The Dark One has claimed a new champion to lead his army: the children’s own father.
To stand against the darkness and save their family, Lauren, Aiden, and Ethan must embark on a perilous quest to retrieve the lost Armor of God. Every piece of the set requires a test of spirit, pushing their courage and their bond to the breaking point as they prepare for an ultimate confrontation.
Will they find the strength to take up the full armor and face the champion—or will the darkness claim their family for good?
Wellspring of Life (Towers of Light Book 5)
After a harrowing rescue, Father is back with his children, but he is broken and fading. The only hope for his survival lies in the fabled Wellspring of Life, hidden deep within the treacherous open prairies of Zoura.
As the children trek across the wilderness, the giant Skull Crusher turns the very land against them. Even their closest allies begin to waver as the Dark One’s persuasion takes hold, threatening to pull everyone off the narrow path of righteousness.
Will Lauren, Aiden, and Ethan find the healing waters in time to save their father—or will the journey end in a final, tragic loss?
Demolishing the Stronghold (Towers of Light Book 6)
The journey that began on a lonely frontier farm reaches its epic conclusion. The children have lit the towers, donned the Armor of God, and found the Wellspring of Life, but the Dark One has retreated to his ultimate fortress, and his shadow still looms over all of Zoura.
Lauren, Aiden, and Ethan must lead a final charge against the seat of power of the Darkness. To prevail, they cannot rely on their own strength; they must use every lesson of faith they’ve learned to tear down the walls of the enemy’s greatest fortress and face a dragon born of pure shadow.
Will the children find the courage to complete their mission and finally restore peace to the land—or will the Stronghold prove too powerful to overcome?
The Story Behind the Story
Allen Brokken began writing the Towers of Light Series for his own children, hoping to share the deep truths of the Bible in a way young minds could understand and enjoy.
With more than 18 years of experience in children’s ministry and youth development, Allen saw the need for faith-based fiction that balanced biblical values with action, suspense, and humor.
The world of Zoura was created to meet children where they are — engaging their imagination while pointing them toward truth.
